The Daytona State men’s basketball team is currently 11-12 with six games remaining before the Suncoast Conference Tournament. The Falcons leading scorer is James Torrence who is averaging 14 points per game. Sekani Mlligen has sunk 43 3 point field goals, and Jeremy Grimbell is averaging over 6 rebounds a game. The Daytona State Falcons baseball team open their 2009 schedule on the road January 31st at Hillsborough Community College in Tampa. The Falcons home opener is February4th vs. Brevard Community College. This’blog will have baseball updates all season. Go Falcons !!!!

Four Sign Daytona State Letters Of Intent

Recently, four student athletes from the state of Florida signed letters of intent to continue their sports and academic careers at Daytona State. Three baseball players, Brandon Lee of Palatka High School, Brian Skonicki of Newsome Highs School in Lithia, and Dave Wisneski out of Palm Beach Gardens High School in Jupiter inked letters, as well as golfer Amy West from Durant High School in Valrico who will join Daytona State’s Womens Golf team.

Markus Brisker-Future MLB Star

Markus Brisker, a 2008 Daytona State baseball recruit who opted to sign a professional baseball contract after being drafted this past June by the Toronto Blue Jays,completed
a successful first pro season as an outfielder with the Gulf Coast Blue Jays rookie league team based in Dunedin,
Florida Toronto’s spring training home.
Brisker, an 18 year old native of Winter Haven,Florida, was
